"Hello, this is Nairuko Mercy, a final year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student at JKUAT. I love mentoring and volunteering on humanitarian activities. I have been a SES member from my second year to date. It has been my best club in campus where I made friends from various engineering fields and learnt new things outside class. My best part was that it gave me a chance to practice what I love (philanthropy), through Outreach and Women in Technology (WIT) committees.
At first I wasn't really an active member but when I joined the two committees, I enjoyed their activities so much that I was always ready to volunteer. Part of the activities were mentoring kids at children's homes, schools (outreach) and within JKUAT (inreach). This actually motivated me to even serve as the Outreach Committee Chair during my fourth year of study. Through that we were able to organize an inreach event within JKUAT that inspired me to do more on impacting humanity.
So I can simply sum up and say that every Engineering student in JKUAT should join SES since through its various committees you can get to practice what you love and give your best, from projects committee, publicity, mentorship, Women in Technology and the rest."
